Side by side. Medium Grass Orchid on the top.
The Spotted Weasel - This one is great for fine lines and pollen dots and veining. I think of it as a miniature orchid bamboo or wildflower brush. It can do a grass orchid flower or wildflower with ease. It will seem easier than the small orchid bamboo for beginners. It is beautiful for wildflowers, delicate nodding stems, delicate tendrils, and slim leaves. Not only does it make round dots for pollen--but it also makes thin lines for striping and veining. Press it and it makes beautiful wider strokes for tiny asters. It's also great for insects, especially with dotted parts, and calligraphy.
The brown weasel bristles are 3/4 inch long and 1/4 inch wide
Retail value $12-17 for brushes in the dotting and detail family. My student price: $3.50
The Medium Orchid Bamboo - A tank which can do multiple long grass orchid leaves, and grassy and wider spring flower long leaves, even small bamboo trunks, the best size for bamboo leaves and branches. One of the most recommended brush shapes in freestyle painting; surprisingly, I even use it to paint Spring Beauty flowers with the tip, and the wide leaves of the Yellow Trout Lily.
The brown weasel bristles are 1- 7/16 inches long and 5/16 an inch wide.
A $26 retail value. My student price: $11.00
